Writer's Workshop

What do I do when Mr. Brown tells the class that we are having writer's workshop?

That depends on you. You may be freewriting or you may be sharing a draft with another classmate. It all depends on your topic and your speed. Each person works at her own pace and with her own ideas about her writing and her process. We don't all compose the same. Our methods of making text-based documents are unique to us, and although we use similar methods, we each use our own timetable along the way.

One person may only need a day to come up with a topic. Another person might need a week. Then, the person who came up with the topic in one day may need a week to write the draft. There isn't one way, but the link to the writing process will guide you to steps that most people need to take.
